Travel Products

Travelling for work, and living from a suitcase requires strong packing and organizing skills. As the travel industry, and amazon, becomes more popular, there are more items to help travellers make the most of their packing space. Enjoy some of my most recommended!

1. Travel Wallet
These are great tools for keeping everything organized while you're travelling.

The gray wallet (immediately to your right) is great for looking professional on business trips, with slots for your passport, credit card, SIM card and more.

If you're going on a more relaxed holiday though, I'd recommend the nice flowery version to the left. With a zip on the side (sure to ensure that even if it's tipped, nothing will fall out), this just screams out VACATION TIME!

2. Acne Patches

As much as I would love to say that I left acne and spots behind at the end of puberty, that would sadly be a lie. When you're at home, you have the weekend to recover if you have a spot, but sadly not the same case on ships. I discovered these last year and they are, quite simply, magical. Gently squeeze out your pimple, put one of these on, and there's barely a mark by the next day - genius.

3. Heat Resistant Silicone Travel Mat
I'll admit that sometimes I can be a little absent-minded when it comes to my hair straightener and whether it's turned off. This thing has been an absolute mind-saver when I've left my hotel room (or most likely cabin) and not have to worry (as much) whether I've turned it off. Plus, if you're at sea and the ship keeps rocking, the peace of mind is beautiful when you know you don't have to worry about it falling on the side and setting something on fire, queue first response, queue awkward questions from your head of department, oops.

4. Electric Toothbrush
While I've always been a fan of Oral-B, I loved the look and price of this toothbrush and wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Added into the fact that the charge lasts for at least a month, and was considerably cheaper than Oral-B, this was definitely a fantastic decision.

5. Heat Pad

If you're like me, you have a high chance of injuring yourself. The day before I was due to fly out to join my latest ship, I fell down the stairs. Luckily I had one of these with me and as soon as I had a break on board, I'd hobble back to my cabin, wrap my ankle in this, and it would be the only thing to get me through the day. Also great for just feeling a little more cozy, and for those evil things known as cramps.

6. Headphones

Who doesn't go on a plane without headphones? Although having said that, I honestly can't remember really wearing them, I tend to get very distracted. But, chances are if you're on board, you'll have a roommate, but if not, you will also have thin walls. And I will also say without a doubt that these are the best (and cheapest!) headphones I've ever owned. The sound is just phenomenal (I honestly can't rave enough about it, and honestly, my first ever review on Amazon), the sound just makes me want to curl up inside a song. I cannot say enough good things about this pair.

7. Ecoegg Laundry Eggs

I've started quite a few contracts in the Caribbean and where the ports are, there generally aren't supermarkets available, and finding laundry detergent has been quite difficult. And in a hotel? I don't think I've ever found any. These things are phenomenally small, eco-friendly (!!), and last more washes than you'll need travelling, perfect to use for that next holiday.

8. Make-Up Remover Cloth

I found out about this product about two years ago, and no exaggeration, changed my life. I love eco-friendly products (who doesn't want to help save the earth?!), and saving money where possible, and these tick both boxes, PLUS, actually get rid of my make-up. I've tried various types of make-up remover over the years with no definitive success. The first time I tried these, it was gone instantly. Rather than lugging an expensive and heavy bottle or pack of remover wipes/liquid on holiday, these instantly replace, and are much more friendly for your skin!
